follow url Our series has been nothing short of sensational. Your boy will draw it to an end with the epitome of sexuality, which is a lane that I subscribe to HEAVY. Despite my humble nature, I have sprayed a lot of sexually charged bars at young women – just to feed my family. In this final entry the plaudits are given to a fellow sexual Scorpio. Adina Howard Freak Like Me.
Let me lay it on the line
I got a little freakiness inside
#8 is Adina Howard Freak Like Me, which broke down doors for chicks to sing openly about their sexual proclivities. Released January 25th 1995, Freak Like Me was the debut jam for a young Adina off the album Do You Wanna Ride? The euphemism game was strong and the album cover was racier than Michael Schumacher down the chicane. Adina’s ass in those leather hot pants and fishnet tights made the album title a rhetorical question.
The sales in BMW may have risen along with other heavy parts
Freak Like Me Official Video
Adina Howard Freak Like Me saw Adina “hoopin” (driving around) with her girlfriends seeking a rough-neck brother that can satisfy her. In the mid 90s the Westcoast had a scene with edgier lyrics and concepts, which centred around the hot climate, famed marijuana and exotic line up of bitches, respectfully.

Samples and Cover
As with most of these 90s RnB smashes there are samples and in this case 4 blasts from the past.
You will recall that English Trio Sugababes also covered Adina’s Freak Like Me in 2002, when I was still very much a novice when it came to the opposite sex. In fact I recall in 2002, whilst getting dressed in the changing room after Physical Education, I was asked if I had ever “wet a girl.” This was a breakthrough moment in my development as I was sensationalised by such a statement.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing and I realise that the boy in question was telling a lie but I applaud him for the entertainment. He must have tried to reenact Scary Movie and took me for a Doofy. Check out the clip below for the analogy.
Adina Howard Freak Like Me Reception and Acclaim
- Freak Like Me reached No 2 on Billboard’s Hot 100 for two weeks – trailing behind Montell Jordan’s This Is How We Do It
- It was certified Platinum
Are you hitting that right? Freak Like Me lyrics
This series highlights the classic 90s RnB songs that helped to mould my mentality and appetite for the opposite sex. If someone in life came up to me and questioned whether I was hitting a shorty right it would be the most sensational moment of my adult life. At that point I would have to rethink my discography as sweating in the corporate setting for nickels and dimes is not going to get me the ass.
I want to freak in the morning
A freak in the evening, just like me
I need a roughneck nigga
That can satisfy me, just for me
If you are that kind of man cause I’m that kind of girl
I got a freaky secret, everybody sing
Cause we don’t give a damn about a thing
It’s on sight for the dude in question in Freak Like Me
This means he is getting ass!
Cause I will be a freak until the day until the dawn
And we can pump, pump all through the night till the early morn
Come on and I will take you around the ‘hood on a gangsta lean
Cause we can pump, pump
Any time of day it’s all good for me
We were spoilt for choice as RnB in the 90s was very much the golden period with a never ending array of classics. In part we have tried to reach all demographics with ballads, duets, soloists, groups, raunchy lyrics and Hip Hop/RnB fusion songs.
